Grease Lightning sweep the Bombers to win the World Series, Bidpalooza has begun, and the bid finalization is tonight. Welcome to a special edition of the polarbears weekly recap!
The big news of the day is that the Dallas Grease Lightning are the new World Champions! They swept the New York Bombers in three games. The first polarbear World Series MVP Award (imo the best player from the series) goes to Dallas C Treyton Mancurso, who went 7-11 in the series, with a homerun, triple, 2 doubles, and 3 RBI. Pitcher of the series goes to RP Keshawn Linville, who appeared in all three games pitching six innings, allowing 7 hits and 3 runs, with 4 K's and 1 walk.
The Grease Lightning hosted New York in Game 1, winning 6-4. After the Bombers put up a three run second, thanks to home runs by SS Vidal Bonilla and 3B Ray Huey, the Grease Lightning responded with 2 runs on a Mancurso home run in the bottom of the second, and back-to-back-to-back home runs in the third! Layne Schroeder got the win, Pedro Sibley got the loss, and Keshawn Linville the save.
Dallas took the second game 4-2 thanks to phenomenal pitching by Damian Villenueva. 3B Anbessa Corrales hit a 2-run home run in the second to take a 2-0 lead, followed by a Mancurso RBI double to take a 3-1 lead. Chase Price hit a home run in the sixth for Dallas. Villanueva got the win and Marquis Daniels the loss.
Playing for the sweep, Dallas blew the Bombers out in New York winning 13-3. The Grease Lightning offense was firing on all cylinders, hitting 4 home runs. Chase Price has 4 RBI in the game. Charro Cisneros and Keshawn Linville had excellent pitching in the game to hold the Bombers to a mere three runs on their home field. Cisneros got the win, and Giblerto Cuellar got the loss.
In other news, bidding has gone insane today. Star closer for the Grease Lightning, Gotzone Ortega, has an 180 million dollar bid on him, currently by the Cincinnati Reds. Santiago Pena, Feliciano Ferrer, Juanito Valverde, Nathan Rosenburg, Matthew Andrew, and Edgar Aguilar round out the top bids.
